I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Darren Hardy (New York, NY) in May 2023
Interview
The interview process was laid out in the beginning to be 3 rounds - first with the hiring manager, second with the marketing operations team, and lastly with the leadership team. Each round had challenging questions but everyone seemed passionate and intelligent, and I genuinely enjoyed meeting everyone. I was told there would be a 2 day period until they had a hiring decision. And then things got weird.. Darren Hardy requested a 4th round interview with me within the next 24 hours, as he had a 3-week vacation to take to Italy. Everyone interviewing here should DEMAND to meet with him personally, as he completely reversed my opinion on working at the company. I found him to be utterly offputting and highly unprofessional. His very first sentence to me was "You're on time - that's not going to cut it around here" apparently in reference to an internal rule they have within their company about showing up early to meetings. There was a point in the interview where he randomly brought up my mental health? The most irritating part for me was when he said in so many words that he didn't like hiring entrepreneurs, in reference to me starting a marketing agency. The guy literally wrote a "rah-rah" book encouraging entrepreneurs to keep up the struggle. The interview concluded after 90 minutes (it was scheduled for 45) upon which point I was given two unplanned assignments to accomplish. All in all, there are definitely some good things about the company. The employees genuinely seemed to be smart people and the pay seemed to be better than average. The employees seemed to fully buy into him being a business savant, which would be crucial for you to take this role.
