I applied online. I interviewed at Data Kinetics (Ottawa, ON) in July 2022
Interview
First interview over teams was fine, very general, the company is looking to hire a freelance editor for their blog planet mainframe, a corporate blog. The blog itself is very basic, there isn't anything to it, they want to take it to the next level. I felt like the two interviews were more about gathering ideas, than taking the hiring process seriously.
"You could create a mailing list for potential contributors" "Ohhhh, we never thought of that,!*note-taking continues
Second interview was an hour long.
One of the interviewers referred to themselves in a non professional manner, but they carefully wrote down the ideas I had for the blog, which I'm sure some marketing agency would have charged them a lot of money for. They mentioned they had six more one hour interviews for the position. Can't imagine the CEO who is paying these two guys to waste the time of six candidates, a full day of note taking.
Was told, either way, if I get the job or not, I would hear from them. Nothing didn't hear a thing from them.
I felt my time was wasted. CEO of this company should be closely reconsidering their hiring practices, as It must cost a lot of money to have these two people represent this small company so poorly.
