Interview
I applied for the VP Software Engineering role at Datahouse in May 2021, and the entire process took about 3 weeks. The interview process was professional and well-organized, consisting of several rounds of screening and interviews with key members of the company. The first round was a 30-minute HR screening call, which was focused on getting to know more about my background, experience, and motivations for applying for the role. The HR representative was friendly and professional, and I felt comfortable discussing my qualifications with them. After the HR screening, I was asked to complete an online behavioral test, which took about an hour to complete. The test consisted of several questions that evaluated my personality, work style, and problem-solving skills. I found the test to be challenging but fair, and I appreciated Datahouse's emphasis on evaluating my fit for the role beyond my technical skills. The next round of interviews consisted of an interview with the VP, followed by interviews with the CTO and the president. During these interviews, I was asked about my previous experience working with Fortune 100 companies and how I would approach managing a team of engineers. The questions were insightful and challenging, but I felt well-prepared to answer them based on my past experience. Finally, I had a final interview with the CEO, who discussed Datahouse's vision and goals with me, as well as the role I would be playing in achieving them. I appreciated the CEO's transparency and willingness to discuss the company's long-term plans with me.
