During my interview with Datavant for the debugging exercise on a pre-written CSV processing script, with multiple nested classes and around 300 lines of code, I completed the task successfully but still received a rejection. The interviewer interrupted my introduction after requesting it, rushed through explanations, and spoke very quickly, making it difficult to ask clarifying questions. This gave the impression of a lack of patience and poor interview facilitation. If this reflects the company’s work environment, I feel fortunate not to have been moving with the next steps.

Pretty typical technical interview rounds:
Hiring manager screening
Coding
System design
Cultural fit
I applied via their career website. A recruiter wrote to me asking for availability and then scheduled the hiring manager screening. I didn't talk to the recruiter though.

Question 1
What was the most technically challenging project you have done?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Datavant in July 2025
Interview
Started with a recruiter screen followed by debug interview. The debug interview itself was fine but the interviewer kept rushing me and it was impossible to focus on the task.
