The interview was very easy. I spoke with Debby on the phone several times and she explained about the company and what types of positions were available. She told me what the pay and benefits would be and school systems where the jobs were located. She told me that I could be driving an hour to get the schools and that I would be going in a company car and riding with some other therapists who worked in the same school system, so I didn't have to use my own car. Debby emailed me and talked to me a couple of times and was always very open and available. That's unlike some companies where you don't even get to talk to the owner or it's just a recruiter who's trying to talk you into anything.
The biggest thing and what impressed me the most was that I was able to email and talk on the phone to other therapists, including CFs, who were working there. Debby just gave me their names and numbers and emails and I could talk to them myself. No other company did that for me.
Another really positive thing was when I came in to Knoxville for my interview. Debby interviews everyone face to face and lets you meet your CF supervisor and other therapists. They paid for two nights in a hotel in Knoxville and some therapists took me to downtown Knoxville for dinner and showed me around. No "managers" were present and Debby just let me go off with some therapists and paid for everything. Everyone was very open about the company and how ethical it was and what a good company it was to work for as a CF. No other company did anything like that, and some would just make an offer over the phone because they were so desperate and didn't really care who they hired.
I also heard from my professors that they also checked all my references. Some other companies didn't even bother.
Later in the process, her husband, Jim, sent me the entire contract, with an explanation of how it worked. I talked to him on the phone about it and he answered all my questions. Everything is written right in the in the contract and it was clear how things worked. Some places I interviewed never even used a contract and just told me about my pay and benefits, but nothing was in writing.
