I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deel in July 2023
Interview
The HR representative was very responsive throughout the process. The process itself was very quick and depended upon my availability. The technical interview was very smooth. It focused on a design exercise based on a set of actual requirements the team had worked on before: microservices, practical solution alternatives for a particular problem, technical trade offs, scalability issues, monitoring, etc. The manager and CTO were cool too. The hiring manager focused on behavioral questions and the CTO focused on cultural fit. Structure: - 30min interview with talent partner - 1h technical interview with team lead - 30min interview with hiring manager - 30min interview with CTO

Application
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (New Delhi) in Mar 2025
Interview
The interview process is easy, but you can't be sure if you'll make it through. In my case, the interviewers were very young. During the technical interview, one interviewer seemed frustrated and didn't want to listen to what I was saying. He was just focused on finding that one answer he already knew. It also felt like they were more interested in hacks—for example, in SQL queries, we could modify the query in certain ways to get the same result, but it's not a legitimate approach to solving the task. So even if you pass the interview rounds, don't be too confident about making it through. I regret canceling two other interviews for this company.
There are a total of four rounds:
1. Introduction and getting to know each other (30-minute meeting)
2. Assessment, where they give you a task that you need to complete within a timeframe
3. Technical interview (on a meeting platform), where they ask questions on SQL and feature architecture
4. Final meeting with higher authority
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question the interviewer asked me was, "How do you debug in production?" It sounds funny because no one typically debugs in production, but still, I answered that we need to check logs and identify the API that is causing the issue, and so on. However, he seemed to be looking for something that I didn’t answer
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (Mataró) in Apr 2023
Interview
The interview process was divided into 4 steps: - An initial interview to get to know each another with contact person from HR. That same person was also guiding me through the whole process and was there for questions. - A programming home task implementing a simple api. This task was quite open, but the HR person is giving some advice on which topic to focus on. - A technical interview with a team lead and and another person from your future team discussing your solution and asking some more general technical questions. - A final cultural interview with the CTO
