I interviewed at Delaware Health and Social Services (New Castle, DE)
Interview
The interview process with structured. There were two panelists asking questions. They ask a total of seven questions. One of the first questions was my views on DEI. The rest of the questions were targeted around contextual or circumstantial situations. I was required to give an example(s) and outcome(s) for how and why I handled it in a specific way.
I applied online. I interviewed at Delaware Health and Social Services (Smyrna, DE) in June 2023
Interview
I applied online. Several months later I recieved a quick phone call to schedule an in person interview. I was under the impression I was meeting with the single person who scheduled the interview, emailed me the instructions, and emailed me three reference forms. I traveled six hours for the interview, and it turned out that it was for a completely different position with a panel of three people, all of which were EMS workers. It was extremely apparent that they did not read my resume or application package. I'm a lawyer and clearly emphasized my legal knowledge and experience reguarding bioethics, public policy, healthcare finance, etc. Also, as soon as I walked in, a woman chastized me for wearing a mask. I stated that the instructions specifically demanded that a mask be worn. She then asked me if I had a medical condition, which legally you cannot do during an interview. She said if I did not have a medical issue that I had to take the mask off. I just traveled to be there and it was in the hospital for the critically ill, so you would think if they actually prioritized healthcare they would want me to wear a mask. I should have just turned around and left right then and there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
(If for some reason I get an offer I will decline). They asked me questions that were specific to a Paramedic's job and current Delaware State medical employees that an outsider would not know.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Delaware Health and Social Services (Smyrna, DE) in Dec 2021
Interview
Details about the position were gone over. Three people each asked questions and took notes when I responded. They were very cordial and professional. I was comfortable asking questions during the interview.
