I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Delaware Nation Industries
Interview
Had a recruiter reach out to me directly after finding my resume online to formally submit for the position and complete a personality assessment.
They'd reached out to the references listed immediately, but never followed through on setting up the interview. There was some logistics of getting their PM or team lead schedule to proceed, I followed up for clarification on the anticipated timeline and then communication dropped.
Wasn't fond of having my references be contacted for essentially nothing, since there was no formal interview with the hiring team, seems like a front heavy recruiting process.

Question 1
Asked about previous experience and how it aligned with the posted position.

Interview
Recruiting system needs massive overhaul. Recruiter would not answer their phone and insisted on references and doing a “cognitive assessment” before even approaching the hiring manager and then has been radio silent for weeks. Salary is also insulting low for what they are expected for a cleared employee.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you have references and their phone number.
Are you willing to take a cognitive test? It’s standard for all applicants.
The interview process was terrible, painfully slow, and dragging on for months with little to no communication. It became very clear that I was never seriously considered as a candidate, yet they continued to string me along without providing meaningful updates or feedback.
The interview questions were robotic and outdated. Rather than engaging in a thoughtful conversation or assessing my actual qualifications, they stuck to cliché questions like "Tell me about a time you failed" or "What are your weaknesses?" - the kind of superficial prompts you'd expect from a high school mock interview, not a professional hiring process.
There was no attempt to evaluate relevant experience, technical skills, or domain knowledge. Overall, the process felt like a complete waste of time. It was slow, disorganized, impersonal, and frankly insulting to someone who was clearly overqualified for the position.
I’ve interviewed with many companies, and this was hands-down the worst experience I’ve had. I would not recommend engaging with this company if you value your time or professional integrity.

Question 1
Very impersonal, robotic, and useless questions. What are your weaknesses, can you describe a time you failed, etc. There was no conversation and questions about something useful. It appeared they had decided on other candidates already after reposting the position 20 times.
