      Operations Manager Interview

      1 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Deliverr (New York, NY) in June 2021

      Interview

20 minute phone interview for NYC region. Then given questionnaire to complete in 3 hrs. I took 4 hrs to complete. Like other reviews, it requires more time to complete. I spent 3 hrs on the analysis part and I'm fully capable of deep analysis as I'm an engineer, MBA, and Ops man/dir for over 7 yrs. However, I felt 3 hrs was enough since I believe further time dedicated to interview should be with a person. Did not get second interview. They said they wanted more analysis and I said 4 hrs was enough. I should have followed advise of other reviewers and insisted on second interview before spending 4 hrs on analysis. I had some solid ideas and wondering if they're trolling for ideas?

      Operations Manager Interview

      12 July 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deliverr (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2021

      Interview

It started off well and I was impressed with how quickly I was pushed through the process. I completed their business case, met with the hiring manager and was then invited to their “virtual on site” which was to be 3 interviews. From there, things went south quickly. I had taken the day off as the allotted time was about 3-4 hours. 10 minutes before my first interview that day, I found out that it needed to be rescheduled. My next interview was odd. It focused on the business case and not my abilities. I started to become skeptical of why I was there, as I was getting the sense that they were more interested in a consultation. The wheels fell off the wagon at my next interview. The person interviewing me said his WiFi was going in and out and that he was having trouble hearing me. There was a lot of background noise (TV/music) and I also heard plates and cups clattering. I think he was ordering food during my interview. I asked him if it was a bad time to which he said we needed to get through this interview. He then asked me a question which I supported with examples. I’m not sure if he was listening or was distracted but he basically told me I needed to find a better example. Overall, it was an unprofessional experience. I had my postponed interview which focused more on the business case again. I continued to be skeptical but was moved forward. I again met with the hiring manager who asked me more questions about problem solving. It was a total waste. I was not surprised to hear I didn’t get an offer. As I progressed, I realized that these were not interviews but more free consultations.
