I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DeskMakers (Dallas, TX)
Interview
1st: Formal phone call and we agreed to meet each other (COO and myself) when he flew in the following week.
2nd: In-person formal conversation
3: no follow-up whatsoever
Very awkward asking my previous accessibility to the P&L at the former employer.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DeskMakers (Commerce, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
Interview process was informative and I was able to meet with the management team. The factory tour was also helpful to see how passionate workers are about their work
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DeskMakers in Nov 2017
Interview
I applied on Zip Recruiter and was then scheduled for a brief phone interview. The woman I spoke with sounded very interested, and said she'd email me some dates and times to come in.
Instead, she emailed me stating that I couldn't come in until I took an assessment test. So, I obliged. There were a total of fifty questions, (Right!?) that I was supposed to answer in only fifteen minutes! These questions had absolutely nothing to do with design whatsoever, so I'm not even sure what the point of it was. There was also a lengthy 'personality quiz' that followed the fifty questions.
When I followed up with her after completing the quiz, she told me that "they received the assessment results of the test and at this time they cannot invite me to come in for the next phase in interviewing."
I'm not sure what kind of interviewing process this is supposed to be, but I have definitely never experienced this oddball method. They did not even give me the chance to meet face-to-face so I could show them my portfolio & get to know me a little better!
I do not recommend interviewing with Desk Makers, what a waste of time!
