Back in 2016, I had the opportunity to interview for an electrical engineering apprenticeship at Diageo. Prior to the interview, a pre-interview email instructed all candidates to prepare presentations on USB sticks. On the day of the interview, I met with about 10 other candidates and observed one individual who had printed out their presentation. When it was my turn for the interview, I was met by management and several engineers. Unfortunately, I couldn't use my USB stick as the presentation system was experiencing technical difficulties. Interestingly, the candidate who had brought a printed presentation ended up securing the job offer. This experience led me to question the fairness of the entire selection process.
