The recruiter reached out on Linkedin.
Quick call after the Linkedin Chat. The HR barely knows anything about the position, whenever I asked her about the role and team she will tell me "I dont know, please talk with the hiring manager". That' ok, not all HRs can be professional enough.
First interview with the hiring manager was schedued a week after the HR call.
The hiring manager was in Beijing, she started the interview without any introduction to the team/position but looking at a pile of papers constantly. The interview was fully Chinese, several basic question were asked and the lady used a lot of weird Chinese words like the they copied from Alibaba, (i think most Chinese viewers know what i am talking about). The hiring manager seems to be extremely interested in my gap year on the resume, I told her I quitted my last job to take care my family because my first child was born. She seems to be not convinced, and its like why you as a man quitted the job because your wife was delivering a baby not you. OK I got it, typical trash manager in China. I asked more questions about the role and team, she only answered some generic sentences without any useful information. Then I finished interview.
Sent several emails and Linkedin messages 2 weeks after. No reply. And finally an automated rejection email was sent after i sent another email.
Worst interview experiences in my whole life.
