This position was in Maryland and the process of the interview was long and unnecessary for a low entry, low paying position. First, I received a phone screening by the hiring rep. She provides an agenda for the in person interview. The interview consisted a one hour aptitude test to determine whether you have the basic knowledge of using outlook, excel, powerpoint, etc. A second part of the test is testing my HR expertise. The hiring rep reviewed my score and explains that these tests does not determine my hire, its to get an understanding of my skills and knowledge but she said i scored above average which is very good. She proceeds to ask questions about my work background, and some most common behavioral interview questions. Some questions raised an alert to me when she asked me how do I feel about being micromanaged; staying overtime, unpaid; and so forth. The process took 3 hrs with a 30min lunch break. At the end of the intervew, I inquired about the salary range. They could not provide an answer on how much the offer is because they were waiting on a budget. They mentioned that they couldnt match me on what i made in my previous role and that 55-60k up is more for leadership roles. Once the interview ended they said if i had any questions i could reach out. Well, lets just say that i tried reaching out 2 times to get an update on my application and hiring rep never responded. All of that for a job that was offering probably 45k.
