      Software Developer Interview

      22 Feb 2022

      Declined offer
      Positive experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Divvy

      Interview

Professional, friendly, comfortable, they did a great job of making me understand the culture right away. WE ultimately stop the process because their hiring timeline at the time did not match mine, as I needed some time to wrap up some loose ends at my current employer.

      Software Engineer Interview

      10 Dec 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Divvy in Dec 2021

      Interview

Preliminary phone screen, another screen with 2 directors, a take home assignment, and then 2 more panel interviews (hour and a half). Overall it was really nice getting to meet the team, but this HR team has to be one of the least transparent HRs I've ever worked with. From the first phone screen they knew my current salary. I received great feedback every step of the way and then a few days after my last interview I received a call from the HR recruiter with an offer that was almost 30% below my current salary. If you knew that you couldn't even meet my current salary why was I moved pass the initial screening? On top of this, I had a current offer in hand from another firm. I gave Divvy a deadline on when I had to make a decision by and at the last minute on the day I was supposed to make a decision, Divvy let me know they needed another day to make their decision. I then had to reach out to the other firm after their business hours to let them know I needed another day to make a decision, making me look horrible. The least they could have done was let me know even if I did receive an offer, it would be way below my current salary. Overall this was such a horrible experience, I felt that I really fit in with the team and was even looking forward to joining if given a fair offer, but the end was a real sucker punch.
