I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DoorDash (Los Angeles, CA) in Sept 2016
Interview
So this was one of the best interview processes I've ever gone through. They have it down. It starts with a call from a dedicated sales recruiter who is a real pro. She gets to know you and sets expectations for the job and calls out any areas that could be an issue. For example, I shared how much I enjoy building relationships with customers and she wasn't afraid to tell me that this is more of a transactional sale (lucky for me it ended up being a hybrid of both because with top merchants it's necessary to have a strong relationship). Then I did a phone interview with my prospective manager which was scheduled for 45 mins but lasted much longer. He went through all the ins and outs of the job and shared his personal experience in the role which helped me conceptualize myself in the position. Then I came into the HQ and did interviews with others in the sales org including the Director of Sales and left with a rock solid understanding of what to expect in the role, the challenges, and the vision for the company. Now that I've been in the role for a bit everything has been spot on from the expectations set in the interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Role playing scenarios. It's necessary to have an understanding on the economics behind restaurant margins and to know about the restaurant industry. Everything can be searched online. Eg, fix costs vs variable costs, on-premise vs delivery, ect.
Thanks for sharing your feedback! We love hearing from our current and former employees. If you have additional feedback you'd like to share, please email us at recruiting@doordash.com.
Other Account Executive interview reviews for DoorDash
So far so good. They move quick and are very clear upfront how it is going to go and what you can expect. they gave me the breakdown of the role and what I need to do to be successful
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at DoorDash
Interview
Recruiter chat, then a call with one of the managers, then 3rd interview is a presentation for 2 other managers using the prompt they send you. The male interviewer was eating during my presentation which I didn't really appreciate, he seemed distracted and slightly rude.
Fast. they had back to back interviews scheduled with different managers on the team after the call with the recruiter. They role played with me on the spot and quizzed me.
