      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

Don't waste your valuable time interviewing with this company. got a call from recruiter after applying online 1st phone : easy leetcode question with a simple object oriented design question and sql query aced this interview was expecting on site but... :) 2nd phone interview i think because im from east coast they wanted to make sure i know my stuff 1 algo question would say it was medium level leetcode not tough but your solution must be with best complexity it was about sorting an array wont reveal exact question but you should be able to figure out "sorting with best complexity" and then a object design easy level. went for on site after a week 1st round - algorithm medium- hard the guy who interviewed me was super knowledgeable and made sure i understood the question did very well with best solution possible. 2nd round - engineering values general behavioural questions. 3rd round - with PM she was super nice and explained really well about team and made sure i was interested to work with them. 4th round - its about previous projects i wold suggest be careful about this round do not through any buzz words if you have not worked on it. luckily i was involved in lot of architectural meetings in my previous companies so i know our system in and out so did pretty well 5th round - system design it was easy - medium level question the interviewer was awesome ,dude was super chill i think i aced this interview as well. 6th round - "The Fun Part" interviewer was super disinterested came into interview room copy pasted a code on online editor (designing a game which i never played in my life) he dint explain what to do just said read it and do it i was like... ok had hard time figuring out what game does then implemented 1st task in code he tested running the code with different inputs luckily all worked i was already loosing my interested because he was not saying a word and doing his own work on his laptop. whats the point of him being in interview room when all he have to do is run test cases and dont say a word then time ended. i kept pinging recruiter for 2 days no response i don't blame them it usually takes a week for a decision on 3rd day after interview got recruiter call saying i was rejected because of last round like do they not care other 5 on site + 2 phone like they just rejected based on some vague reason that i took extra space while solving problem if that last interviewer would have spoke a word about space i would have fixed it in a sec. i was more concerned about best time than best space. any way please don't waste candidates time when all it takes is one dis interested interviewer opinion to reject a candidate luckily i have offer from big 4 and few other companies. i was really planning to leave those offers just for doordash and few people i met during the interview. will suggest others if you are short of time like i was don't bother applying here because its a waste of your time.

      Interview

Walking into the coding interview, I was taken aback when they asked about finding the K nearest restaurants based on coordinates. Just days before, I had stumbled on a mock on prachub.com that mirrored this question almost exactly. The interview felt straightforward, but I struggled with some behavioral questions. Overall, the experience was underwhelming; I expected more technical depth. After several rounds, they decided to go in another direction, which was disappointing given my prep efforts.
