Application
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (New York, NY) in July 2025
Interview
Received a cold outreach from a recruiter, did not have a recruiter screen over the phone. Answered 15 questions about my role, what I am looking for, and why I am interested in DoorDash. Took a bit to respond but finally received a response for the interview round which was a case and coding interview back to back. Case was first and was focused on delivery quality and bad reviews. Coding interview was a basic coding interview, but was definitely rushed. Interviewer wasn't allowing me to check my work, and you couldn't even run the code to confirm your work. It's been 3 weeks and I got a form rejection letter instead of an email from a recruiter

Question 1
What metrics would you use to measure the success of a new product launch? How would you calculate churn rate, and what key metrics would you monitor? If tasked with improving user engagement, which metrics would you focus on and why?
referred by a friend, and had the 1st round of interview consisting of 30-min case + 30min coding . The case question is not hard with pretty vague, but they do care a lot on how to translate the solution into technical solutions

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DoorDash in Nov 2025
Interview
It was a series of two rounds, one was a SQL round, and the other a case study. They provide ample material to prepare for the interview beforehand. But be prepared for changes in the time length or order of interviews on the actual day. The SQL questions will be easy to medium.

Question 1
The case study focuses on either two or three of their system: users, dashers, and merchants. Practice thinking by putting yourself in each role and evaluating the impact of a decision on you. Focus on metrics as well.
1. The recruiter initially contacted me via LinkedIn.
2. The HR phone screen was straightforward, focusing on my background and salary expectations.
3. The technical round lasted one hour, split into a 30-minute case study and a 30-minute SQL assessment.
