I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Duke University
Interview
3 months long. 4 interviews, including 2 panel interviews with 3 different employees each. Interviewed with 8 different employees total. My first interview was a 30 min. phonecall before 2 panel interviews over Zoom. Very odd to not have a longer, video interview with supervisor prior to the panel interviews. The reason I was not ultimately selected could have been based on the original resume I submitted; the interview process was a complete and significant waste of time.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Duke University in Apr 2022
Interview
Three interviews in total with the whole process taking about 5 weeks. Not sure if that's typical of Duke or just a unit looking rapidly for someone to fill the role. Questions were fairly run of the mill. Initial interview was with potential collaborators in other offices (not the direct unit). Second interview was more of an introductory convo to the final on-site interview. Final interview was on-site and filled with interviews with the direct team, on-campus partners and students. Conversation with students were the most revealing and at times didn't seem in alignment with what convos with the staff. Hopefully this person will be able to bridge the gap between what the University wants to do with the program and students' needs.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Duke University (Durham, NC) in July 2015
Interview
Phone interview followed by a day and a half on campus with several meals, meetings with staff, presentations, and individual interviews. Everyone was really open and welcoming. Met with collaborators across campus as well as some students. It was more casual than I expected for a private university, and people were also very candid about the benefits and challenges of working at the University.
