I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ERM (Singapore) in June 2010
Interview
We had a guest lecturer from ERM and I directly sent my resume to him seeking for a job. The HR person contacted me within 2 weeks and requested me to summarise a 10 page document within one page and send via email. After I did that, I was requested to attend a test at ERM's office. It was testing on the general english and math skills. A specific test on some basic HAZOP or process safety concepts.
Then there were was an interview from the Environment team personnel that was asking questions specific to the resume and my interests related to consulting (If i can work overtime, like writing reports, meeting and talking to clients) and it lasted for 1.5 hours. There was another interview after a week with the same person and her boss. Pretty similar questions and the interview lasted an hour. After a week, I followed up for the position and was informed the position is on hold and was asked if I would like to join another team concerning Risk and Safety.
After I agreed to, there was a phone interview with the respective team lead for about 15 mins and a face to face interview for about an hour. After the interview, I was informed that I was selected.
The whole process from the initial HR contact to securing the job took 2 months.

Question 1
For people looking out for work life balance, questions like 'Can you work overtime?' can be little stumbling to answer.
