I applied online. I interviewed at EXUS (Athens, Athens, Attica) in July 2018
Interview
The first step was a quick call (about 5-10 minutes). They basically told me they would send me a test to evaluate my knowledge. It was to create a REST web application (pretty simple, just a few endpoints etc.).
They told me I did well on that, so they invited me for an interview, which lasted about an hour. Initially it was with the HR manager, but soon we were joined by two senior developers. They asked me a few things about the application I had created, what I could have improved upon etc. They spent a decent amount of time explaining what my duties would be (it would include traveling abroad sometimes). They also told me that there would be 3 more interviews and the whole process would take about 2 weeks. If I passed all the interviews, they would need me to bring them into contact with a former employer for references. Overall, it was pleasant experience and despite the fact that I was dismayed by how long (in terms of steps) the process would be, I was quite optimistic.
After two weeks of having received no notice from them, I sent them an email to ask for feedback. They told me that I had been rejected mostly because of the application I had created (apparently it wasn't good enough). I was surprised because their original answer when I sent them my work was that it had passed with flying colours and that was why they wanted to arrange the first interview, so I wasn't expecting to fail because of that.
Moral of the story: Even if they ask you for something simple, you should try to make it as flamboyant as possible so as to stand out.
