Eastman Production Operator interview questions

Meet with a couple people from the facility answered a handful of questions. Was offered a position. Went through physical and drug screen. Evidently for a production position one must DOT vision requirements. Being blind in one eye I do not. Why must a production employee meet DOT vision standards? How is not a tautological scenario? These are the requirements because these are the requirements.
