Business Developer (Junior Sales Associate) - Athens Interview

      6 Oct 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Athens, Athens, Attica
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ebury (Athens, Athens, Attica) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Stage 1: Typical HR mentaity but with a more than average seriusness and professionalism. Stage 2: Two of the sales managers where bombarding with technical and non technical questions for about 35min. They were trying to fish me a bit. Stage 3: Two other sales managers did similar to the stage 2 quetions with a friendlier atitude. It took no longer than 12-15 mins. Stage 4: The regional manager of three countries (including Greece) only asked 3 questions and had a very strict attidute towards me. He never smiled and just wanted to see how I think.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Stage 1: -Typical HR questions starting with ''tell me about yourself'' (of course). - Find three things from the environment that you are in right now (your house or office) that could be potential clients to us. Stage 2: - What's the price of the dollar today. - What can you bring to the company. - Why did you not proceed with your studies at PhD level. -Why sales. - What Ebury does/what services it offers. - What do you know about forward contracts. - Who's our competitor/s. - Can we offer services to anyone?. - Hypothetical scenario: I am a farmer that produces watermelons. I want to export them to Bulgaria. Could Ebury offer its services to me? If yes, why and what services specifically. - What is headging at currency exchange. Stage 3: - Do you know how an import works? The rest where very similar questions to stage 2. Stage 4: - Tell me about yourself. - Why should I hire you. - This is actually the best question I had at an interview so far: Imagine that you and a close friend are queueing at an Italian restaurant in Athens. The queue is long and your friends are already inside having dinner. A few blocks away on the same road there is a restaurant who is part of the same chain. It has the same owner, the same prices, it similarly has a long queue and everything is actually the same. Try to conveince me to leave the queue of the restaurant that we are in order to go and wait at the other's queue.
