Eek! I'm on track to get a Doctorate in Organizational Psychology, and I thought this might be a good opportunity to support a local organization based in the EAC. However, I was really surprised by how sloppy the recruitment communication was.
The process kicked off with a few emails poorly structured emails that were near inarticulate and farcical (Lack of proper capitalization or punctuation, and random repeating words throughout the body) --which I overlooked.
The Co-founder was late to our initial interview and claimed she misread the time on her calendar, though I did wonder why a co-founder would conduct a screening interview, and if that was an effective use of resources. I was then sent a Myers Brigg test, and a series of video prompts, asking for practical examples of the skills that would be necessary to succeed in the role, but did not hear back for two weeks. The final follow-up email apologized for the delayed response and also lacked proper capital letter usage and had the word 'regards' written twice in a row...hahaha...so I can't say I felt too bad by the rejection.
I'd hate to come off as an embittered candidate, but the public hiring guide that espouses the "values" of Edgeperformance posted all over the website was so incongruous to the experience, that I had to post a review-especially given that this company markets hiring as a core competency! Insane. If this was a glimpse into how they hire, I definitely wouldn't trust them to manage the HR function of any organization.
