I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Edgewood Properties (Piscataway, NJ) in Nov 2022
Interview
The interview process was over 6 weeks from the first interview. The First round interview was with the residential marketing manager. Next step was a WordPress, PHP based technical challenge specifications were not communicated well at the onset. I completed the challenge and it was requested to do over without leveraging any existing plugins without great technical reasoning behind the need for that. So I re-completed the work by creating custom PHP plugins to achieve the same outcome (creating a custom PHP plugin to do custom forms instead of leveraging industry standard plugins) , work took a week on and off. After 4 weeks of waiting and following up to see how they felt about moving forward, and receiving positive feedback from first interviewer i was brought in for a follow up interview with two C level employees that went well, They had almost no experience with web development. Was brought in for a third interview with their IT MSP provider, as the C level employees did not have technical experience and could not " talk tech " so they wanted their IT MSP provider to make sure it’s a good fit. The interview with their IT MSP provider was 3 IT engineers who admitted they knew almost nothing about development and asked questions along the lines of "What IDE do you use?", "What Operating system do you use for development", "What package manager do you use", " What do you use for version control?", How would you handle changes from development to production" , "How would you handle a database issue?". Unprofessional and negative interview experience .
