I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Elsevier in Jan 2022
Interview
Started with a phone screen about your interest in technology, how you got started, and goals you would like to achieve. If you get through that, then there was an interview with HR and a senior engineer. Typical HR questions, a few technical questions, but nothing too extreme. Lasted about an hour

Question 1
Typical HR stuff, different software concepts such as agile methodologies, object-oriented programming, etc.
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Elsevier (Philadelphia, PA) in July 2017
Interview
Was contacted on LinkedIn via a recruiter from Elsevier. We briefly discussed the role in more detail over the phone. He mentioned he’d like to move forward to the next steps which is talking with two members on the engineering team I’d be working with. Set up a time and talked with them and it went well. I was then brought on-site and talked to 3 members of the team (managers and one other DevOps Engineer). The questions they asked weren’t bad at all and gave me plenty of time to ask my own questions. A few days later, I got an offer over the phone from the recruiter. I negotiated a bit and then accepted. It was a very easy and quick process (legit took 1.5 weeks from LinkedIn message to offer). I really liked that as I can be impatient at times and some companies do take a long time to get back to you with news.
