I applied online. I interviewed at Empire Edge (New York, NY) in July 2020
Interview
This was during the pandemic, so there was a quick phone call to verify some information and to set up a Zoom interview. After that, I was given an assessment of the areas I'm best qualified to teach. I liked that they did that, as many other places sort of took my word for it. It was not an easy process, so I definitely got the sense that they were looking for the best of the best. The final interview (again over Zoom) was with the president of the company, where I prepared a mini-lesson, and then we discussed pedagogy and even some adolescent psychology. The feedback I got during that discussion was incredibly helpful.
