Interview
Panel interview, questions about experience certifications as well as any other info. Many people on interview you would never work with. Overall was good but strict offer time frames. 2 week maximum for transition to new position
I applied online. I interviewed at Encantado Technical Solutionss (Albuquerque, NM) in July 2022
Interview
I was contacted by recruiter that works for Apex. This company is what Encantado uses for recruiting. ETS must disclosed that they are an unpopulated company, this means they are just an address in the city where they have the contract. Employees will be employed by other companies affiliated with ETS. Apex and the recruiter that contacted me are on the east coast. I believe the hiring manager is also on the east coast, but they wouldnt tell me. The recruiter asked me for my resume, I emailed it to him along with a cover letter. I did not hear back for 2 days. I wasnt sure if I was supposed to submit it on ETS website so i did, and i gave the recruiters name. Shortly after this he called and said the hiring manager wanted to interview and set up a time. I was kind and flexible. The hiring manager never called. I emailed both of them and one other person several times. Another 16 hours has passed, no call. I wrote back and canceled. In retrospect, here are the red flags: 1) Its clear where the work is and that its a contract, but its unclear how many subcontracts there are and who they are. Who I would work for, it was not explained. "one of the companies" they said. 2) The salary was 10K lower than the job title. They justified this by putting "Jr." in front of the title, yet the job description had more responsiblities than this would have even if it wasnt a Jr. position. This job as described is a Help Desk Analyst. 3) offering $5K for training, a credit. They specified it can be for anything, not just job related. There is no training that will cost that much in New Mexico. New Mexico is about to go tuition free 4) No vacation or sick leave listed, so I asked. He would not specify sick leave, he said, its not a problem. In fact New Mexico law now requires 64 hours of sick leave per year. So either he was using the 15 days of PTO as the sick leave, or was ignorant to this important fact. 5) he said "feel free to email me with questions" but he didnt respond to any of my emails with answers. 6)He said that i already agreed to the salary (before talking to hiring manager), but I actually didn't. 7) He cc'd someone from the other company called ECS. He wouldnt tell me what their role was with respect to my interview, only "she works with me". 8) this job description is incredibly short compared to the others. My experience didnt meet up with this description but they still wanted to interview and they were really interested in my scientific experience, which is not part of the job. They said to talk to the hiring manager about all the software I use. I believe they were also trying to mine data from me. A financial company years ago did this also, they made me go door to door to take surveys and without any offers, still more weeks went by and they wanted me to keep meeting with people. Again they offered training "20K value" with no salary for the first year and if you dont stay working for them to pay it back, they will collect it. Beware of this company. Beware of your contracts you sign. Make sure you put yourself in a good place.
