I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Enchanted Celebrations in Mar 2022
Interview
The interviewer clearly had no experience doing the job they were interviewing candidates for, they want applicants to shadow on a wedding for free which is a pretty ridiculous request for anyone who already has experience shooting weddings and a portfolio to showcase.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Are you willing to shadow a wedding (for free) where you will be filming the wedding?
I applied online. I interviewed at Enchanted Celebrations in July 2021
Interview
I was offered a trial shoot after the interview but after realizing how low the pay was (even though it was advertised as higher) and after several red flags I decided not to pursue this.
A person interviewing photographers with photography questions who knows nothing about photography was an immediate red flag. She basically red boiler plate questions that could have been asked online. The way the scheduling was described to me seemed very last minute and strange. Any specific questions about the job, logistics, how they might want something shot, etc. weren't answered (not that it was the interviewers fault - she was just completely unqualified).
The interview was WAY too easy and then you still have to go and shoot for free. Make the interview harder honestly and weed out people. You'll waste less money finding people so you can pay them more money and everyone is happier.

Interview
Messy to schedule an interview. Interview felt impersonal and somewhat insulting. They expect you to work with them for free to start
Their system of booking is as follows: you sign an onboarding contract, you give them you're entire availability schedule, then they book you whenever you say you are free. There is not an accept/reject date phase of booking. This means you have to micromanage their proprietary calendar and there is a risk that you may agree to work with a different client on a date only to later that day find that they have booked you on a date which they though you were free.
She said they need to see my raw files to know what they are getting from me and I said I will happily share my prior work with them but I will not work for free.
It is their policy to juice you for free labor.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I struggled understanding the interviewer's accent but she asked questions like:
-Are you willing to free up your day? which she clarified as "if you are booked will you work all day" or something like that.
- do you have experience shooting weddings? this shows she didnt look at my resume or cover letter.
-we require you to "shadow" until you have enough experience despite my working for 3 years as a wedding filmmaker.
