I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Enpal (Berlin) in Nov 2023
Interview
I had a short call with a hiring manager where we discussed my experience and what I've been doing over the last years. He then also introduced me into the background of why they are looking for someone and gave me space to ask questions. We then had a more technical interview on-site, which was not too hard or theoretical and very close to what was actually required for the project at hand.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about Systems Design, how I would solve specific challenges, and a little coding exercise.
I had an initial conversation with Talent Acquisition followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional, and the discussions were pleasant throughout.
During the second interview, it became clear that my background and the actual requirements of the role were not as closely aligned as I had initially understood from the job description. While I appreciated the open discussion and transparency, I felt that clearer expectations in the job posting or earlier screening could have saved time for both sides.
Overall, the process was respectful and positive, but I believe a more precise description of the role would have helped ensure a better match from the start.

Question 1
The interviews focused mainly on my previous experience and technical background.
Applied through Linkedin, they reached out quickly because C# tech stacks are all fit.
30 mins HR general talk, then take home assignment, you need to run docker to set up your computer environment for the db they crated, then have to implement a standalone application, once finished, push it to docker again so they can run it with docker.
With all those work submitted, rejection letter came in, If you got the same assignment, escape unless you have plenty of time and patience with this bullsh*t, desperate enough to find a job and mentally prepared to get rejected anyway.
cuz after this assignment, there will be coding challenge, and system design , and resume deep dive , at least 3 rounds ahead waiting for you
