Interview
I got an interview two weeks after applying. I was called to the office of a recruiter, who had me fill out loads of paperwork and talked with me about the basics of the job. He gave me a time for the group interview. The day before the interview, I received an email listing the location and directions to get there. I was advised to bring a paper and pencil, and to take notes. There were five people scheduled for the interview, four of us showed up. Very little was asked about our work experience. when I was asked what my previous job was (this would be my first job) I was careful to let them know I had experience with my own pet rodents (but that I no longer had any), and that I had a certificate of mammal husbandry. If I hadn't said that right then, I would have had no other opportunities to bring it up. Most of the interview was telling us about the job (rules, job duties, etc) and asking us which position we wanted, and which location we wanted (barrier or isolator, the recruiter went over this with me, as did the staff at the interview) a few hours after the interview, I received a call from the recruiter telling me I got the job, and whether I was in the barrier or isolator. They will do a background check (to make sure you aren't a Peta spy) and give you a drug test sometime after you get the job.
