Interview
The entire hiring process took about three months. I applied online (through their website) and one month later I received a call from a very friendly recruiter who scheduled my first 30 min interview. The interview took place one week after that initial communication. I was then invited to an interview with my future managers, this interview was about one hour long. Then I did a third one hour interview with my future Directors (each of these interviews happened within 1 week on each other). Throughout this entire process my HR contact was very friendly and communicative and answered any questions I had. We then moved on to references, payment negotiations, and back ground checks. The process was long but worth it.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Environmental Defense Fund in Jan 2013
Interview
Initial communication through an email from HR to schedule an interview with a HR representative. HR interview, lasted about 30 minutes. Then an interview with the direct supervisor (hiring manager), then their supervisor, then their supervisor, each lasting about 30 - 45 minutes and lots of the same general questions. Then had several shorter, less formal (more conversational) interviews with other program members, lasting only about 20 minutes. All interviews were in-person or video conferencing but from the local EDF office.

Question 1
Lots of situational questions, questions that begin with "tell me about a time when..." and "given this situation how would you handle it?" Most unexpected question was that in my second to last interview I was asked what I did not like about the interview process, interviewers and the program I was applying for.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Environmental Defense Fund in June 2008
Interview
Applied online. Followed up with phone calls. Received offer about a week after the interview. I was asked a lot of questions regarding my views on the environment and my experiences directly related to to the job requirements. I was interviewed by a panel of four people. It was a fair interview process.
