I was interviewed twice for two jobs at the same level and grade. For both jobs I was added on the Commission’s reserve list. Later, another vacancy with the same nature, requiring the same sets of skills, and at the same grade was announced. Technically, I should have been given the job for already being on the reserve list. However, I was asked to make a new application since the job requires another sets of skills. I requested to explain the differences except that they have been phrased differently. All I got was that there are “key differences” with no explanations. And it got even worse when I was told that you were interviewed for fixed-terms and part-time jobs. I am not sure how does that should affect the skill sets or vice-versa. Obviously, no body explained. After reading the reviews about the workplace and the management, I am feeling blessed for not being selected for the recent role. I won’t make another application to the Commission. The recruitment process was an excellent demonstration of the internal mindset and management culture.
