      Operations Analyst Interview

      11 Nov 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Brussels
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Euroclear (Brussels)

      Interview

It was horrible. They set up an interview with me more than 3 weeks later and the recruiter didn't seem interested in the interview. I was so prepared but all she asked me was to tell me about myself and then about my work visa status. Because I required visa sponsorship, she told me she will ask the hiring manager if they could wait for my work visa. It was as short as that. After that, I was simply ghosted for a month before she replied that the manager was not willing to wait.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Euroclear (Brussels) in May 2023

      Interview

I recently went through the interview process with Euroclear, Belgium, and overall, it was a positive experience. The process consisted of three interviews and an online personality test, which provided a comprehensive assessment of my skills and suitability for the position. 1st: The first interview was conducted by a recruiter agent who aimed to understand my motivations and determine if my profile aligned with their requirements. We discussed my background, availability, and salary expectations. Additionally, the recruiter asked me two unexpected questions, namely explaining the reasons behind the 2008 economic crisis and differentiating between bonds and shares. Although these questions caught me off guard, they showcased the company's thoroughness in assessing candidates' knowledge and critical thinking abilities. 2nd: The online assessment involved a Hudson personality test with four sub-tests. Although it took a little longer to complete, I found it interesting and engaging. However, it's worth noting that no evaluation or feedback was provided following the conclusion of the test, which would have been helpful for self-assessment. 3rd: The second interview, conducted by HR, was a pleasant and smooth experience. The interviewer was welcoming and created a comfortable environment for discussion. They were genuinely interested in understanding my motivations, previous experience, and reasons for applying to the job. Throughout the interview, we delved into various aspects of the company's culture, career development opportunities, training, and other relevant details about the role. This interview left me with a positive impression of Euroclear and its commitment to nurturing its employees. 4rd: The third interview, with the operations manager, was more technical and serious in nature. While the conversation was not as smooth as the previous interview, it provided valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities and workings of the department. The manager was transparent about the training process and emphasized the level of commitment required. One notable question asked during this interview was a scenario-based inquiry, where I was asked to prioritize tasks when facing time constraints. It served as a means to gauge my problem-solving abilities and provided a glimpse into the challenges I might encounter in the role. The only minor issue I encountered during the interview process was the delayed issuance of the offer letter. Given the efficiency and speed displayed throughout the interview stages, the delay was unexpected. However, it did not diminish my overall positive experience with Euroclear. In summary, the interview process at Euroclear, Belgium was comprehensive and well-structured. The recruiters and interviewers were professional and focused on understanding my motivations, skills, and alignment with the company's culture. Despite the delayed offer letter, I would highly recommend Euroclear as a potential employer based on my positive interactions throughout the interview process.
