There were total 5 interviews, all of them were just formality, they only asked about my past projects from the CV.
I was starting to like the company culture and team members who interviewed me.
Later they sent a list of questions, which made me realize they are serious about making an offer.
However, just like typical Japanese company, they made an offer which was lower than my current and had no room for negotiation or bonus and any added benefits.
To that point, I tried to counter based on my other offers and they replied with some issue with cultural fit nonsense as the main reason for not making a better offer.
In short, i found them utterly ridiculous, backward and discriminatory based on one’s culture (if you are gaijin or if you could not speak Japanese)
I’m glad I declined their offer, its a horrible place to work, where they openly encourage and practice discrimination based on someone’s race
