I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Exclusive Concepts in Nov 2021
Interview
I had an initial phone screening that went well. All typical first screening questions about my resume. The second interview was with the hiring managers. They asked more in depth questions about my experience. I was then asked to complete an assessment of my skills for SEO strategy. This is where I feel this went wrong. They requested an assignment that took me a full Sunday to complete. I had to do a Quarterly Strategy for one of their clients and complete a presentation for it. I personally felt that this was free work but went ahead with the assignment with hopes that I would get the position. This is not the first company I have experienced that expects free work. I have skill badges on Linkedin and Indeed that lets companies know that I have proficient skillsets in SEO. I did not hear back from them after the presentation I did and I had to follow up. After my follow up I was told I did not get the position without any explanation on how I could improve etc. Of course they wanted the file I completed so they got all the ideas I created. I found this very frustrating but it also let me know that I would not be interested in a company that does not respect a candidates time.

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Exclusive Concepts
Interview
My interview process lasted 4 months. I had 8 total phone/video conversations with them and was told on several occasions I was the top candidate being considered. I applied and interviewed for one position and was made an offer that fell below the salary expectations I had given up front. Then, I was told that I should interview for another more senior role that was more in line with those expectations. At this point it was clear that they wanted to work with me, however they were now asking me to complete a project/presentation. Having already spoken with them on several occasions, I was frustrated to learn that they wanted to further delay the process by having me basically do unpaid work. I let them know this and still they wanted me to do this exercise, which took a significant amount of time. Ultimately the process ended anti-climactically with them saying they would be going with another candidate for the more senior role and not mentioning the other role again at all. Based on this experience I imagine working here is quite messy.

There were a number of hoops to jump through and no standardized process. Everyone at the company had different interview processes. It was frustrating that it wasn't standardized because it made hiring very complicated
