      Senior Internal Auditor Interview

      10 Feb 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Expedia Group

      Interview

I had an interview with the entire team approximately 8 hours total (7-8 interviews 45 minutes to an hour long). The interviews were very repetitive. Interviewers didn't seem to have any interest in asking questions, they were mostly reading them. After a long rigorous process, they didn't even have decency to reach back out and provide status. I followed up with their recruiter but no answer.

      Senior Internal Auditor Interview

      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Springfield, MO)

      Interview

There were three interviews total: the first two were 45-minute screening interviews to weed out those substantially unqualified. The questions are pretty standard, getting general information about past work experience. The last interview was four hours long, with 5 people, about 45 minutes per person. The composition of interviewers consisted of the three Internal Audit managers, a Senior Internal Auditor, and a manager from finance/controllership. The interview was fairly standard, with heavy emphasis on behavioral inquiries (tell me about a time when...). It was enjoyable talking to most interviewers and they all offered to answer any questions the interviewee may have had. The cons: From an objective standpoint, the interviewers were wholly unprofessional in fact and appearance. Additionally, they were all on different pages as far as communication is concerned. One of the audit managers told me that I would receive an update in a couple of days, and another told me by the end of the following week. I didn't receive an update by either of the timelines given, so I reached out and was told I would receive an update by the end of another week. This happened two more times with me reaching out and being told that I would receive an update. I proceeded to hold off on any further communications as I was extremely frustrated at that point. A couple of weeks had gone by before I had received final communication. I was one of the worst communications I have had to deal with so far in my career. I was under the impression that I merit the professional courtesy of reasonable and timely update due to the extensive time and energy expended into the interview process. I do hope that Internal Audit's hiring practices change in the future, as I hold high respects to the company as a whole.
