I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2024
Interview
The recruiter screening and hiring manager interview went well. The hiring manager was very encouraging and posed a simple problem about A/B testing. The next round of interviews involved a mix of technical (SQL) and behavioral questions. One interviewer did not show, and I was rescheduled with someone a few days later. In additional to the standard behavioral questions (describe a mistake you made, etc.), there were lots of questions about how I'd handle difficult stakeholders with differing perspectives. I got the impressions that to be successful in this position, you needed to have worked in an identical position at another travel-based company. They weren't as interested in probing my general problem-solving skills, more concerned with whether I would respond to challenges in the exact way that their team would. I really liked the recruiters I spoke with, though they didn't reach out to tell me about the decision; I had to email a few weeks later to find out I wasn't getting an offer.

Question 1
In SQL, given a few tables that have clear joins between them, calculate month-over-month difference for a particular metric.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Expedia Group in Dec 2023
Interview
Overall positive experience. There were three 1v1 interviews with stakeholders and skip levels, followed by panel interview where I presented a take-home analysis case study related to marketing. The process took about 4 weeks.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Expedia Group in June 2021
Interview
1 HR phone screen, 1st round of SQL interview and hiring manager interview (~1 hour each), 8 hour case study, 1 full day of interviews with manager, skip-level, and 2-3 other people on the team.
I took a full PTO day and spend 8 hours on an in-depth case study and did not hear any results back for almost 2 weeks after my final interviews (despite several follow ups) which made me feel that they did not value the time I spent on a very lengthly interview process enough to keep me in the loop. They also scheduled my final round interview day to start at 7:15am which I felt was also a bit inconsiderate.
I only heard back about their declined offer after 4 repeated attempts to get a response (otherwise I think they might have just ghosted me)
