I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Exponent
Interview
There’s a couple of round of phone interviews and then on-site. First round person was friendly and nice. Second round was extremely rude and unprofessional, had a lot of background noises, was not paying attention to my answers, and would not repeat questions after I couldn’t hear well.
We are very sorry to hear that you had a poor phone interview experience. It is our goal to have every part of our process leave candidates with a positive impression of Exponent. During this challenging time with many employees working from home, the quality of phone connections is much more variable.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Exponent (Natick, MA) in June 2025
Interview
First interview was with the hiring manager, not looking for technical qualifications so much as "personality fit". Second round was with another principal scientist, asked to prepare a conversation about an example that demonstrates my problem-solving ability. Was not invited to 3rd round, which would have been an on-site interview.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Exponent (Menlo Park, CA) in Oct 2024
Interview
Multiple "feel out" interviews with current team members. Asked questions about why you wanted the role with some sprinkled in technical questions. Final interview was onsite. Multiple rounds of tech interviews with a tech presentation mixed in. Great structure IMO, forced to think on your feet and show real knowledge and experience as opposed to shiny resumes that likely are due to group resources (coming from academia).
