Got contacted by the FCG recruiter in the beginning of November 2020. She booked a time slot for an initial chat with herself. After talking, she arranged an interview with hiring manager, who I talked with for a good one hour. He found me a great cultural fit and liked what I had accomplished. Now, I was asked to wait for a "tech assessment" and also another HR round. It was nearly towards the beginning of the Christmas period, when, after a few follow ups, I finally got to talk to an HR, who again liked me as a great potential contributor. I then kept on waiting for the so called "tech assessment" that finally came through well into the new year time, after "several" follow ups. The assessment was a big let down. It was as though I was a beginner in cloud computing. Anyways, I finished as soon as I saw it and sent the response straight away. After SEVERAL days of follow ups, I got contacted that the recruiter had been busy changing her role. Now a new recruiter (copied in the email) would be contacting me "shortly". It was NOT until a month+ of wait did I try reaching out and then I got a call from this new recruiter that the position is not there anymore (due to restructuring) and we are seeking a director position. And here this: She said, without taking my interview on director position specifically, that "I am not good fit for this position because the hiring manager thinks that I do not have enough contacts". I have been in Australia since 2006 and travelled the world, worked with some game changing organizations, people, and C level and I did not even get a chance to talk about this! What a shame!
Anyways, I wish them lucks in their business!
