      Field S Interview

      24 June 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Maple Grove, MN
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FANUC (Maple Grove, MN) in June 2019

      Interview

Phone interview. A lot of generic HR-type questions. Assuming they were saving technical questions for on-site interview. Interviewer stated a few things which led me to decline on-site interview. 1- very low salaried pay range for a position which requires 70%+ Travel - Most travel positions are salary (non exempt) or hourly which is competitive across a variety of industries. This ensures that you are compensated for your time on the road. 2- Company no longer uses company cars (not really a huge deal) except if your car has over 100k miles you will be required to purchase a new car within 6 months. With 70% travel I am assuming your miles are going to rack up quickly and will need to be buying new cars every year or so. 3- Required to own your own high limit credit card for reimbursements for per diem, miles, gas, etc. Which I am assuming will be a lot of fun when your taxes are due. Overall, interview was an OK experience. The interviewer didn't seem particularly enthusiastic during the interview. My best guess is because they keep getting good candidates who decline to pursue additional interviews after hearing about how non competitive the compensation and benefits are for someone who has to be on the road all the time.
