A recruiter (acting for one of the company's first tier talent vendors) contacted me for a different position after seeing my resume on a popular technology recruitment and staffing website. After some workup for this position, she asked about specific technical skills, and after my response, we began working up a submission for this position. In total, there were 2 phone interviews with the company itself (in addition to phone screens and email exchanges with the recruitment firm), and one on-site panel-style interview. The panel included the direct manager, two others in similar job functions, and the development lead who consumes the work from this position. The panel interview included a brief overview of myself, a "grilling" period of my experience by the incumbents, a technical/analytical whiteboard test, and a period for me to "grill back".
