Interview
I applied online by sending my resume to HR. They screened resumes and called me to tell they are willing to proceed. I filled out the employment application form. They sent me the interview notice and I accepted.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at FMI Medical Systems (Solon, OH) in Jan 2016
Interview
Talked to the CEO/President of the company. Came in for an onsite. First talked to the CTO of the company, then with some scientists and engineers.
After talking to the inside sources, I knew that this company is actually owned by the a Chinese government-related Chinese business man, and they are targeting on Chinese market. Many of the technical staffs are Chinese, and from what I have known they are very underpaid. They had to stay because either for a working visa or will need green card sponsorship.
Also from talking to the inside sources, their base salary seems about 30% lower than it should be. There seems no bonus. The company do not provide 401K match. Life / work balance is also bad. People having been working there 3-4 years have never had a salary increase. Sometimes you have to come to work on weekend (with 0 pay) regardless how hard you have worked Mon-Fri. Management pushed very hard with extremely unreasonable deadlines and requirements, but with very little support. The management also get angry very easy and often.
I am glad that I did not go.
