Very casual. Interviewer did not schedule an interview, just called me in the middle of my workday and asked "Is now a good time?"
The interview was fine; it was HR that was the red flag. They have DEI info on their website but I didn't get the impression that they "walk the walk." They whiffed on a pretty basic thing: their application has a spot for LEGAL NAME and a spot for PREFERRED NAME. Then their auto-generated messages out of their HR system are set up to use your legal name. So you know from the get-go that it's always going to be an uphill battle there. Imagine if someone had a more complex DEI situation than simply just using their middle name instead of their first name. Yikes.
