I interviewed with a Fairview Health recruiter for the Systems Improvement Analyst position. While the initial communication was polite, the overall experience was disappointing and unprofessional.
When I asked about the team structure, the recruiter admitted to having no knowledge of it and told me to wait for the hiring manager to explain in the next round. The job description was vague about the tools and technologies required, and when I asked for clarification, the recruiter turned the question around and asked if I “needed specific tools to do the job”, which I felt dismissive.
As a healthcare recruiter, he also seemed unaware that Cerner is a major EHR system. When I explained my experience with Cerner and how it related to the role, he appeared confused and repeatedly asked if I actually meant Epic.
Throughout the conversation, the recruiter frequently interrupted me while I was explaining my experience, making it difficult to provide complete and relevant answers. The most frustrating part came when he became irritated after learning I was not based in Minnesota, accusing me of providing false information, even though my resume clearly listed my state.
Overall, the screening lacked professionalism, transparency, and respect, leaving a poor impression of Fairview’s recruiting process.
