The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Fannie Mae (Washington, DC) in Oct 2009
Interview
I interviewed through on grounds interviewing and was the second to last interview of the day. IT WAS ABYSMAL! When I walked in to shake the interviewer's hand he turned his body to pick up papers on a table and never introduced himself--ZERO EYE CONTACT. The rest of the interview consisted of typical behavioral questions where he stared at my resume, never looking at me as I responded and saying things like "umm..." as he attempted to come up with another question in the middle of my answers. I felt like I was on a sinking ship throughout the interview.

Question 1
"Oh I see you're a Foreign Affairs Major, what class are you taking that you really like"
Smooth. Need a good amount of experience going in to answer broad questions. Very smart, kind interviewers. The first round is strictly behavioral, and then the next gets more technical.

First interview was with a recruiter followed by three team interviews. Each turn was with two 30 minute interviews with two senior team members and the HM. They were mixed with tech and behavioral questions.

Interview
The interview process was very straight forward! Very nice interviewers and very professional HR. Probably one of the few companies that give you a response after your interview and you application status will be updated via email whether your resume is being reviewed by a recruiter or a hiring manager.
