      Senior Software Engineer III Interview

      27 Aug 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Fannie Mae (Washington, DC) in Aug 2020

      Interview

The interviewer gave me a brief overview of the company before asking obscure technical questions about Amazon Web Services that had no relevance to my background on my resume as a java software developer. I was expected to know the nitty gritty details about how AWS works instead of how I used it to meet our customer's needs. He was also condescending when I didn't know the answer to a question he asked. It was clearly a phone screen because the interviewer was just going down a list of questions and made no attempt to drive the interview like a conversation or ask me about my experience.
