I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Fast Trak (Tysons Corner, VA) in May 2016
Interview
Fast Trak appears to advertise under many different alias names. FTI, Fast Trak, APP Group and more. The position I applied for likely does not exist and won't exist. I applied through auto apply through a major job board.
When the recruiter called no questions of mine were answered, such as "What is the average income?". The response is "Oh we'll answer that when you interview." My response is "You don't know what the average income is?" and their rebuttal "It depends on the individual". My final back is "The average does not depends on an individual". But whatever, I am tired of collecting unemployment so I scheduled the interview.
Then I was contacted several more times from the same office all claiming to be different companies that aren't related but share the same office building. And share the same floor. And share the same suite. I ended up being scheduled for 2 overlapping interviews even though I said I wouldn't be able too. Interviews normally last 30-60 minutes. Whatever, tired of not working.
I arrive about 15 minutes early. The 1st interview is basically, "Hi, how are you. Lets schedule a 2nd interview. You can go now". Oooooook.
Next interview I am made to talk to a recruiter type person outside in the cold spring morning air. I hadn't planned on interviewing outside so I didn't bring a coat. I am explained a commission structure and other things.
I am approved, and told to come back the next day for orientation. That day I am given a huge packet of papers. Some of it normal but most of it is bizarre. Multiple arbitration agreements. Employee type paperwork (W-4) but agreements stating you are an independent contractor with no minimum wage and no overtime.Agreement that the 'employee' is basically personally liable for everything under the sun from your background check and drug test fees to your canvassing license to any monetary award for harassment made against you or your manager.
A big part of this packet is the enclosed commission structure and *subcontractor agreement*. The only way to meet the commission structure that I was told previously is if you sign someone up for all services and all upgrades. This states your pay is kept in arrears for 3 weeks and that arrears starts after the service has been installed. If the provider decides to not pay for any reason it states you are SOL. So *if* you get paid your first check can take 7 weeks to get to you. For a job with $0 hourly and no OT.
This to me appears to be a job scam.
