I interviewed at Feldco Factory Direct (Wausau, WI)

      Interview

Had a phone screen, where it was disclosed that I had a trip planned that would interfere with the training if I were to be hired. I was ready to let it go at that. Got a call back that the location manager wanted to meet with before they decided. OK, cool. I met with him and was offered the job on the spot after a brief interview. I was told the training part they would figure out. Great! Got really excited, told some people I got it, got pumped! Not so fast, got a call later that the guy had exceeded his authority and a regional manager wanted to talk to me first and decide if I'd be worth the trouble. First red flag, but fine, understandable. I agree to interview with him and am offered the job again a couple days later, with assurances that they'll make sure I'm trained up and work around my trip. Signed the offer, got set up in their system, got excited, started referring leads even. Week before training starts, they tell me training start date has been delayed by a week, but no worries, they'll make sure I'm ready to go and work around my trip. Second red flag, and I started to question their honesty internally, but fine. Stuff happens, decided to give them the benefit of the doubt until given an explicit reason not to. I had turned down several other interviews and an actual offer during this time, I was committed to this opportunity. Following week, they tell me the training has been moved again, and that if I want to move forward, my trip won't work. At this point, they've failed to honor commitments three times, so why would I do that? I told the recruiter that I felt like they were stringing me along, and, while remaining professional, to have a nice life. He said they don't do business this way, and I thought to myself, "You don't?" TLDR: I didn't ask for special treatment, they offered it, then reneged after I let other opportunities pass me by. A simple no would have been more professional and left me with a more positive view of the company. I don't believe that this company takes care of their people based on this experience.

      Question 1

Standard stuff. Some personal, mostly about how you'd approach selling.
