I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Fios Genomics
Interview
This interview process is in my opinion specifically designed to waste as much time as possible to ultimately provide zero feedback and claim that there's some other candidate that performed better. I believe there was no other candidate
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts. Ultimately its going to be hard to have a positive experience when you don't get a job offer. I value my time and that of my colleagues as well as any interviewees and so I'm sorry you felt we wasted time - I'm not clear if you meant in the 90 minutes that were scheduled or in the process as a whole. Its certainly taken a bit longer to schedule 2nd interviews due to holidays. Please feel free to get in touch and ask for feedback - we'll happily provide. We were really pleased with the number of skilled applicants that applied for the role and we've conducted 4 interviews over last few weeks which included your own. We have identified our preferred candidate and hope to make an offer later this week. Best of luck in your job search.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fios Genomics (Edinburgh, Scotland) in June 2020
Interview
This was a very thorough and professional interview process. The interview was constructed with a presentation I gave followed up with competency questions from project management & the operations team. I enjoyed this interview process and the staff were very friendly.

Interview
2 stages.
- First stage was to get an understanding of what you are like. This was more like being on an episode of mastermind than a 2 way conversation.
- Presentation of your experience and how it was relevant to the role. The presentation was designed to be 30 minutes and there were questions throughout so the overall interview took 1hr30.
I believe they were interviewing 3 candidates for the role. I did not get a curtesy email to say that I hadn't got the job. In fact, I only got a reply after sending 3 follow up emails. This did not include any feedback at all despite investing a significant amount of my time in the process.
Overall this seems extremely arrogant. Don't waste your time applying unless you really want to work here.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself and the other standard questions.
Many thanks for taking the time to write the review. I was sorry to read you didn't find the experience positive. We don't have any record of anyone sending 3 follow up emails and all unsuccessful candidates were informed after the interviews were completed (<2 weeks after your interview). We conducted nearly 50 interviews at Fios last year and we try to give feedback where this is requested. I apologise if your request fell through the cracks. I hope you have been successful elsewhere in your job search.
