Ghosted me in 2025.
Human resources called me for the screening process, told me she forgot to call me on time because she got distracted working at home and fell off a ladder hanging new curtains. One of these de-escalation techniques human resources likes to employ when screening candidates. We left it at the manager would setup a time to discuss the opportunity in the next two weeks as they were on vacation and were in the preliminary stages of the process.
I followed up in January and she claimed to not remember me, not seeing me in her calendar. I expected the minimum courtesy of speaking to the hiring manager but that never materialized.
So after the follow-up, the HR wrote the boiler plate dear John response.
"My apologies. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to review your resume and meet with you re. the AR Coodinator role in Ontario. We have decided to respectfully pass on your candidacy due to your background not quite aligning to the needs of this position. Nevertheless, even though the opportunity didn’t pan out this time around, we hope you’ll remain interested in FIRST ONSITE.
Around here, our needs are continuously growing and evolving. We wish you the very best with your job search!
With most appreciation, "
